This community is right for you if...

YOU ARE ADOPTING FROM FOSTER CARE:
This support group was specifically designed for families who are adopting waiting children from the US Foster Care system, but any foster or adoptive parents are welcome!

YOU ARE JUST GETTING STARTED:
If you have just started the adoption process, joining this group will put you way ahead of the crowd! You can get support on everything from finding an agency to bringing your child home!

YOU ARE STRUGGLING THROUGH THE WAIT:
If you are waiting for an adoptive match, you can expect support from others who have been through this situation, and have a safe place to express all of the feelings and questions that come along with it.

YOU ARE IN THE FIRST YEAR POST-PLACEMENT:
If your child has come home in the past year, this group is a great fit for you. Get support as you make your child feel comfortable in your home, bond with one another, deal with difficult behaviors, and adjust to your new normal.

YOU DESIRE TO HELP OTHERS:
We always welcome those who have already gone through the process and would like to share what they’ve learned by supporting and encouraging others!

YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH FAITH BEING A PART OF THE CONVERSATION:
This is a faith-based group and so references to scripture, prayer, and other Christian values may pop up from time to time. While the group itself is faith-based, people of all beliefs are welcome to join.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why is the group hosted on Facebook?

A: Facebook has the most user-friendly interface for having discussions, posting announcements, and sharing live videos.

Q: What if I don't have a Facebook account?

A: Unfortunately, in order to join the group you will have to create one. You can choose to only use it for the group!

Q: How much does it cost to join?

A: For the founding member launch, the price is set at only $10/month! This is the lowest it will ever be offered. If you sign up now, you will be locked into that low price for the lifetime of your membership...even if the price goes up for new members!

Q: How is this different from the free Facebook groups I'm a part of?

A: Unlike free groups, this community will be well-moderated and is specifically designed to offer community, group coaching, education, and mentorship to families adopting waiting children from the US foster care system.

Q: What if I can't afford it?

A: No worries! We will still have regular free content on my YouTube channel with a ton of info about adopting from foster care.

Q: How do I access the private Facebook group?

A: Once you sign up you’ll receive instructions on how to request access to the private Facebook group. If you don’t currently use Facebook, you can create an account without any details or friends and access the group that way.

Q: When will my membership renew?

A: The membership renews each month on the same date that you joined. If you join on October 15th, it will automatically renew on the 15th of each month. You can cancel anytime and will still have access for the remainder of your membership period. Contact katie@adoptinformed.com for help with cancellation.

Q: Do I have to be a Christian to join this group?

A: While this is a faith-based community, people from all backgrounds and beliefs are welcome to join!
